Pet Birds That Sing

Birds can be wonderful pets. They do not require a lot of care and can provide beautiful singing and chatter in your home. Today, our Rabun County vets will talk about the best birds that sing.

There are a lot of beautiful birds that sing beautifully and that make great house pets. Here is a list of some of the best birds that sing.

1.  Robin

Robins are a stunning shade of red and stand out among birds because of their voices. Robins are playful and have been known for their outgoing personality and friendly relationships with humans. Further, Robins are only known for being aggressive when you aggravate them. Robins are smaller birds too, only growing to be about 11 inches long. soThis means they will not take up as much space as some larger birds.

Robins prefer to eat bugs and worms, which can be bought or brought in from your garden.

The robin comes from northern Europe to central Asia and later to the Maghreb, sticking to warmer places. It is also found in the Canary Islands and the British Isles.

2. Goldfinch

The Goldfinch is a bird of beautiful colors and a lovely birdsong. Goldfinches are quite small and brownish-red above and pale below. They have black-and-yellow wings, a black head, white cheeks, and a red face. The Goldfinch prefers to eat sunflower seeds and thistles.

These birds are known for being featured in shows and contests, given how amazing they sing and their upbeat behavior. This bird is a very popular pet.

3. Canary

There is no bird song more beautiful than a canaries. In fact, canaries are often bred specifically or their singing. But it's important to keep in mind, if you really want a bird that sings, that while female canaries are capable of singing, the males are the real singers of the species.

When it comes to canaries it is smart to purchase them in pairs. The male canary likes to sing to the female counterpart so they can mate.

Canaries are simple when it comes to feeding them, they eat a variety of seeds that can easily be found at most pet stores.

4. Nightingale

A small bird, the nightingale has an amazing birdsong. The song includes very different tones and melodies, usually learned from their parents, which are then passed on to their young. Nightingales are brownish and rather plain looking, unfortunately. But they make up for it with their powerful singing voice.

Unlike other birds, it does not only sing early in the morning and evening. The nightingale likes to sing late into the night, surprising in the silence of the darkness.

Nightingale likes to eat beetles and bugs but does like seeds in their diet as well.

5. Amazon Parrot

These parrots have truly colorful personalities, and they love to show off their skills. They have magnificent voices and with practice can learn to imitate speech.

Amazon parrots are very intelligent animals and can bond with humans and are known for being friendly. They make great house pets and can adapt to their cages quickly.

Parrots do require a lot of mental stimulation, they can get bored very easily. Without attention, your parrot can become problematic and have behavioral problems.

6. Cockatiel

Cockatiels are well known for their powerful, smooth whistling. Cockatiels love to show off by singing for other birds and humans. Cockatiels don't just have wonderful voices either. They can also learn to dance and jump around to music and other's singing too!

Cockatiels are among the most popular pet birds. Since they are small parrots with a variety of color patterns and a crest, they are attractive as a pet as well as friendly and easy to tame.

Because of how small they are, cockatiel care and taming are easier than many other parrot species
